Choosing The Right Bass Fishing Equipment
If you are going out to fish for some of the largest fish you will probably ever fish for then you need to have the right equipment which would include the right clothing.
Bass fishing equipment is so important if you are serious about spending time on your local lakes and trying to catch the fish that is worth the trophy. Having the proper reels and rods as well as tying it in with the proper bass fishing lure is a must or you will not be successful. It seems that the reel and rod is the most expensive part of the equipment but when you try to equip yourself properly you will see that it adds up fast. Make sure to look out for sales at the fishing stores. Also if you are a trout fisher you may have some equipment that you can use for bass fishing also. Of course the rod and reel is the most important piece of equipment. Take the time to keep your equipment well maintained, this is just as important as buying the more expensive brand. Even thought you expect the expensive brands to be reliable, they still need to be maintained regularly. You don't want to have trouble with your reel when you are in the battle between you and the fish. Learn as much as you can about the important points of
maintenance however daunting it may seem. Researching this will save you a lot of time trouble later on. One point to remember is to check your line guides with a q-tip so that the line fits through the holes with out trouble. You don't want it tearing when you are close to landing the big one. Regularly check the rod for cracks,
especially if it is a 2 or 3 part rod. If you do notice any cracks, repair them immediately yourself or take it to a fishing store for repair. What ever you spend on the repair is a lot less than a buying a new rod even when you are buying in the seasonal sales. Don't put it off because if you are seeing cracks, it will break sooner or later. Line Changing Changing the line regularly is important especially if you fish every weekend. This should be done every three months for regular users as the stress on it is enormous. Obviously if you a competing in tournaments you should change it more often, probably every time you compete just to be safe. Always be safer than sorry. Spending more money on line is better than losing a fish because you didn’t check a line properly for breaks or tears. Continue to check up on your
bass fishing equipment and you will succeed as the angler you want to be. Lastly, make sure that you have appropriate clothing and supplies. Don't underestimate the length of time it can take when you get into an intense battle with the fish and this could mean that you spend a lot of time outdoors often without shelter. Ensuring you have the right jackets, pants, and footwear for the right season is essential. Once you have checked all the supplies and inspected your fishing gear for other problems it will be time to rush to the lake for an exciting afternoon of with just you and the fish!
